CHEZ AMIS – “Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch. The Flow of Painting = The Flow of Life”
Thursday, 18 June, 7–8 pm, Hamburger Kunsthalle
With Shanice Page

Join us for a visit to “Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch. The Flow of Painting = The Flow of Life” and gain fascinating insights into the current works during a guided tour led by Shanice, the organiser of the Young Friends. This major dual exhibition is dedicated to Maria Lassnig (1919–2014) and Edvard Munch (1863–1944). For despite the time gap of more than fifty years, surprising parallels can be seen in the biographies and artistic approaches of the two artists. For both Lassnig and Munch, painting is a means of expressing inner states; through colour, they make emotions, physical sensations and existential experiences visible. Let’s immerse ourselves in their colourful worlds together!
This summer, our friendly and popular series is taking place once again: Chez Amis – it’s always best among friends! This time, we are inviting the Young Members of the Bucerius Kunst Club to our current exhibition ‘Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch. The Flow of Painting = The Flow of Life’.
For the past four years, we have been offering our friendship event Chez Amis, where we – the Young Friends of the Kunsthalle and the Young Members of the Bucerius Art Club – invite one another to exhibitions worth seeing. In a relaxed atmosphere, you can strike up conversations, view the works up close and discuss what you have seen. As always, the focus is on our shared interest in art and getting to know one another.
Following the guided tour, all participants are warmly invited to enjoy a cold drink.
