Description:
The stories "Von dem Fischer un syner Fru" and "Von dem Machandelboom" are among the most beautiful German fairy tales, whose plot and narrative style still fascinate today. More than 200 years ago, Philipp Otto Runge (1777-1810) first recorded the stories, which until then had only been passed down orally, years before the Brothers Grimm adopted them from him in their collection of children's and household fairy tales. They can now be rediscovered in this lovingly designed artist's book.

Artist Nathalie David illustrates the fairy tales with collages of motifs by the artist Runge, fragments and details from his drawings, watercolours and playing card designs. The fairy tales can thus be experienced not only by reading, but also by looking, and are thus wonderfully suitable for reading aloud - either op Plattdüütsch or in the opposite High German version. The book is complemented by two CDs (audio book and audio play in High German) on which the fairy tales come to life with music by Vladyslav Sendecki, singing by Ursula Wittich and the voices of Hildegard Schmahl, Patrycia Ziolkowska, Werner Grassmann and Hermann Book. This multimedia artist's book offers a wealth of things to look at, read for oneself, read aloud and listen to....
