AUTISTIC DISCO

If you follow actor and DJ Lars Eidinger (*1976) on Instagram, you've probably already noticed them: his photographs, taken with a cell phone camera, which only resemble seemingly harmless snapshots on the surface. Behind them lies a contradictory, abysmal world. In Autistic Disco, these works are now collected for the first time in an illustrated book, accompanied by texts by the author Simon Strauß. To confront the viewer and himself, to open his mind and senses to the contradictory nature of the reality of our lives is what Eidinger says he wants to achieve with his pictures. And – according to Simon Strauß in his foreword to the book – at the same time he delivers the emotional history of our present.
